Upholstery Cleaning

Safe, fabric-appropriate cleaning for sofas, sectionals, and chairs that lifts odors and stains without damaging the material.

Overview

What Upholstery Cleaning Involves

Upholstered furniture absorbs everything that touches it — body oils, spills, pet hair, dust, and everyday grime. Unlike floors, it's rarely cleaned on a regular schedule, so buildup accumulates quietly over months or years until fabric looks dull, feels stiff, or starts to smell.

Because fabrics vary widely — cotton blends, microfiber, linen, synthetic weaves — upholstery cleaning isn't a one-size-fits-all process. We identify the fabric type before we start and adjust our solution and method accordingly, since the wrong approach can cause shrinkage, discoloration, or water rings on the wrong material.

Our Process

How We Do It

Every job follows the same careful process, adjusted for the specific material and condition of what we're cleaning.

Fabric Identification

We check tags and test the material to confirm the safest cleaning method for that specific fabric before any solution touches it.

Dry Vacuuming

A thorough vacuum pass removes loose debris, crumbs, and pet hair from seams, crevices, and cushions before wet cleaning starts.

Pre-Treatment

Visible stains and heavily soiled areas like armrests and seat cushions get spot-treated with a solution matched to the stain type.

Low-Moisture Extraction

We use a controlled, low-moisture hot water extraction process designed for fabric, applying just enough solution to lift soil without over-saturating the cushion fill.

Grooming & Drying

Fabric is groomed to even out the nap, and fans or airflow are used to speed drying, typically 2 to 6 hours depending on fabric and humidity.

Why It Matters

The Case for Regular Cleaning

Removes Embedded Odors

Fabric holds onto smoke, pet, and food odors far more than hard surfaces. Deep cleaning addresses odor at the source rather than masking it.

Protects Your Investment

Furniture is one of the more expensive purchases in a home. Regular cleaning prevents oils and soil from breaking down fibers prematurely.

Improves Everyday Comfort

Freshly cleaned upholstery looks better, feels better to sit on, and removes the dust and allergens that accumulate in daily use.
